Special Lecture on Alternative Construction Technology in Civil Engg, on 18 Jul 2017

On 18.07.17, a special lecture on modern construction technology was conducted for civil engineering students. At the outset, a brief introduction was delivered by Ms. Nandhini. Final year Civil engineering student Oliver Joel delivered the welcome address while Someshwar from the same class, compeered and hosted the event. The lecture which was explained in a structured manner by means of a power point presentation, focused on LGFS method, REX wall technology, SIP, Magnesia core technology and PUF sandwich panels.

Mr. Aliaas Latif, the chief guest who is well known for many of his construction projects, presented a detailed analysis about alternate structures. Initially a brief introduction about the whole idea of alternate structures was given. Thereafter, the conventional method of construction was juxtaposed along with the latest methods. REX Wall technology, the world’s fastest energy-saving composite construction material, was described at length as a very desirable part of any construction venture.

The Dutch composite products company GmbH was also mentioned as the innovator of composite architecture, machines designs, house boards and disaster proof-constructions technology. The desirability of REX Wall in terms of maintenance, earthquake proofing, energy savings and fire safety was highlighted in the presentation. The implementation modes of Green, Advanced and Easy levels of REX Wall were explained clearly in the final stage of the presentation.

The entire event concluded with the HOD of the Civil engineering department delivering the vote of thanks.
