Workshop on Environmental Safety and Safety Engineering, on 12 Jul 2019

The Department of Mechanical Engineering Conducted a workshop, ‘Environmental Safety and Safety Engineering’ on 12th July 2019 at Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering (DCE). Dr. S Suyambazhahan, the Principal – DCE welcomed the gathering and shared the importance of awareness on Environment. The Chief Guest of the workshop was Mr. Palani, the Manager, Safety, Ashok Leyland and Mr Radhakrishnan, Deputy Manager, Safety, Ashok Leyland and they were honored by the Chairman and Principal of DCE. Dr. V P Ramamurthi, Chairman addressed the gathering and mentioned that DCE students have done a project for Ashok Leyland. He added that the herbal garden was developed in the College campus.

Dr. A R Pradeep Kumar, HoD/Mechanical briefed about the relation between DCE and Ashok Leyland. He also mentioned about the Workshops, Internships and Industrial visits organized so far with the company. Mr K Palani conducted a session on “Future Automation”. In the session he mentioned that, in future there will be less job opportunity for middle level people. But the opportunity for lower level and higher level people will be same.

He suggested that the middle level people must become more skilled and they should not to lose the opportunity. Mr P Radhakrishnan conducted a session on “Safety Management and behavior of the worker in the industry” to avoid unforeseen events. He also briefed about causes and effects of accidents happening in the industry.

Mr K Palani conducted a short session on “Environmental Safety”. The session included the plastics and its harm to environment. At the end of Workshop a pledge was taken by gathering to follow the safety rules, to avoid the things that harms the environment. The programme ended with the vote of thanks by Mr. S Iyappan, Asst. Prof./Mechanical Engineering
