College Day, Sports Day & Cultural Day Celebrations, on 21 Apr 2018

Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering conducted College Day and Sports Day celebrations in a festive mood today from morning till dusk at the campus. The celebrations commenced at 10 am and went on till 6 pm in the evening. Chairperson of DCE Mrs. Dhanalakshmi Ramamurthi presided over the progremme. After the Invocation and the traditional lighting of the Lamp, the audience was welcomed in the opening speech by Dr.K. Senthamil Selvan, Professor, Dept. of ECE. The Chief Guest for this event was Mr. Ram Swaroop, Vice President of ‘Cyber Security Works pvt. Ltd .’ Mr. Ram Swaroop was introduced by the Advisor of DCE, Mr. Cyril Fernandez. The Chief Guest elaborated on the necessity for combining discipline with enjoyment in college life. He admired the enthusiasm of the students and commended them for their desire to succeed in life. Disciplining could also be an enjoyable process if one learnt to prioritize the important things in life, he added later. The College Annual Report was presented by the Principal of DCE, Dr. K. L. Shunmuganathan. Mr. Manoj Kumar, DCE Physical Director read out the Annual Sports Report. Soon after the felicitations, the prizes were distributed by the Chairperson of DCE for academic as well as sports achievements. Finally, the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Sankar, Professor, Mechanical Department. The inaugural session ended as solemnly as it had begun, in the rendering of the National Anthem. The cultural programmes started in the afternoon and ended around 6 pm. Altogether, the celebrations were conducted and enjoyed in a grand manner.
