For many, a new beginning means a fresh beginning, a chance to set the right tone or chart a new course in life, be it academic, personal or otherwise. At Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering, it was a new chapter being forged in the lives of the 1st year students of B. E. / B. Tech. who had gathered at the college auditorium on the 7th of August 2017. They were accorded the warm welcome which is typical of DCE for any visitor to the campus. The parents also had thronged the venue eagerly along with their sons and daughters. The Chief Guest for the event was Senior Consultant from WIPRO, Mr. Sricharan. He encouraged the students to aim high and also put in more than just adequate efforts for success. Successful careers have always been the outcomes of meticulous planning, he added. The chief guest also elaborated on the changing scenarios of the corporate landscape in developing nations like India. There were plenty of opportunities for those who are patient and hardworking by nature, he concluded. The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Sendur, HOD of Science and Humanities department; he thanked the students, staff and Management profusely for their presence. Finally, the curtains came down for this auspicious programme after the national anthem was sung.
