Seminar on Advanced Machining Techniques using CNC Machines organized by Dept of Mech, on 13 Mar 2018

The Department of Mechanical Engineering arranged a guest lecture for third year engineering students on the topic ‘Advanced Machining Techniques using CNC Machines’ at the DCE EEE Auditorium on 13-03-2018. The guest speaker was Mr. D. Chellapandi from L & T, Chennai. The speaker, Mr.D.Chellapandi is at present working with the L & T Production Department. He is also the proprietor of ‘Supershine CNC Centre’ which imparts training in CNC Machines operation and programming. He possesses more than 20 years of experience in CNC assisted manufacturing process. Dr. AR. Pradeep Kumar, Professor and HoD for Mechanical Engineering, delivered the welcome address and Dr. KL Shunmuganathan, Principal, inaugurated the lecture session and later emphasized on the significance of technical insights in real-time scenarios. Mr. Srikanth, HR Associate of Thangamani Associates, an organization which provided placement assistance, elaborated on HR-friendly approaches as far as preparation of the candidates was concerned. The speaker conducted their lectures in two different disciplines i.e., career building for students and on technical discipline. They talked about three things that the student should develop namely, communication skills, technical skills and a positive attitude. The session was concluded by Prof. R. Rengaswamy, who thanked the speaker for his valuable inputs and then appreciated the students for their patient hearing as well as enthusiastic participation.
