Guest Lecture on Machine Learning, organised by Dept of CSE, on 17 Jul 2019

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering conducted a Guest lecture on “Machine Learning” for the third-year students of CSE on 17.07.19. The Guest speakers were Mr. Saravanan, Project Engineer and Mr. Thareek Anwar, Project Engineer from Retech solutions Private LTD., Tambaram, Chennai. The program was inaugurated by The Head of the Department Dr. K. Nattar Kannan M.E, Ph.D and the Presidential address was given by our principal Dr. S. Suyambazhahan. M.E, Ph.D (IITM). First, he congratulated the CSE department for conducting this event and also, he explained the students about the importance of guest lecture in gaining knowledge and enriching themselves for placement. Then the session was handed over to the guest speakers. Mr. Thareek Anwar explained the concepts of Machine Learning and he taught “How machine learning works with different trained data sets” and he also explained the different strategies used in machine learning with different examples. Mr. Saravanan explained about Supervised learning, Unsupervised learning, Reinforcement learning and Regression in a detailed manner with different examples. The third year CSE students have “Soft Computing” as one of their subjects and the lecture was of great use for the students to understand the concepts of Soft computing better as it is a part of machine learning.
