National Cadet Corps (NCC)
Overview
Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering hosts the 1 (TN) Battalion NCC since 2017. The unit began with 52 cadets and expanded to 104 cadets in 2018.
The NCC unit focuses on discipline, leadership, physical fitness, and national service. The campus is equipped with obstacle training facilities and a firing range that are utilized by NCC cadets across Tamil Nadu.
The unit is led under trained Associate NCC Officer (ANO) support, with structured training programs conducted throughout the academic year.

GP IGSC Selection & Launch Camps


The 10 (TN) Battalion NCC conducted the GP IGSC Selection Camp at Vellore (01–10 May 2025), where cadets underwent intensive weapon handling, drill, and live firing assessments.
DCE proudly announces the selection of:

Both cadets advanced to the GP IGSC Launch Camp (14–23 May 2025, Chennai) and secured positions among the top performers representing Chennai ‘A’ Group.
Inter Group Shooting Championship & Selection Trials
Conducted at Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai (26 May – 04 June 2025), featuring the best cadets from Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Andaman & Nicobar.

International Yoga Day – 2025
DCE celebrated International Yoga Day on 21 June 2025 in collaboration with NCC, NSS, and the Department of Physical Education.


Over 100 students and faculty participated in sessions focused on:
Mindfulness and stress management
Pranayama and meditation
Basic yoga postures and Surya Namaskar
The program promoted physical well-being and mental balance, reinforcing NCC’s commitment to holistic development.
National Service Scheme (NSS)
Overview
Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering has two active units of NSS, committed to community engagement, social responsibility, and student development.
The NSS unit conducts regular outreach programmes within the campus and in the adopted village, Malaipattu, focusing on health, awareness, cleanliness, and social service initiatives.

Major Initiatives & Events
Temple Cleaning Activity – Kancheepuram
The NSS unit actively participated in “Ulavarapani” at Egaambaranathar Temple, Kancheepuram, on 10.09.2023.
The initiative reflected the students’ commitment to community service and received appreciation from the public.
Drug Awareness Programme
On 11 August 2023, the NSS unit conducted a Drug Awareness Programme to educate students on the social and legal consequences of substance abuse.
The session was delivered by Mr. Sivakumar, Inspector of Police, Somangalam.
Approximately 175 students and 100 staff members participated and took an awareness pledge.
Medical Camp – Eye Check-up
The NSS unit organized a Medical Camp (Eye Check-up) under the theme “Healthy Youth for Healthy India” to promote preventive healthcare and early diagnosis among students.
