ZETA
ZETA is a student-driven initiative established by two final-year students from the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI&DS) Department of Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering.
ZETA is envisioned as a platform that encourages students to explore ideas, develop technical and professional skills, participate in competitions and events, undertake innovative projects, and engage in research and development activities.
The initiative focuses on creating opportunities for students to learn beyond the classroom, collaborate with peers, solve real-world problems, and transform their ideas into meaningful projects and innovations.

Rotaract Club
The Rotaract Club of Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering provides students with opportunities to develop professional, leadership, interpersonal, and management skills while actively contributing to the community.
The club promotes respect for the rights of others, ethical values, social responsibility, and the dignity of all useful occupations. It encourages students to develop a strong sense of community awareness and actively participate in initiatives that address social needs and concerns.

National Cadet Corps (NCC)
Overview
Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering hosts the 1 (TN) Battalion NCC since 2017. The unit began with 52 cadets and expanded to 104 cadets in 2018.
The NCC unit focuses on discipline, leadership, physical fitness, and national service. The campus is equipped with obstacle training facilities and a firing range that are utilized by NCC cadets across Tamil Nadu.
The unit is led under trained Associate NCC Officer (ANO) support, with structured training programs conducted throughout the academic year.

GP IGSC Selection & Launch Camps
The 10 (TN) Battalion NCC conducted the GP IGSC Selection Camp at Vellore (01–10 May 2025), where cadets underwent intensive weapon handling, drill, and live firing assessments.

Conducted at Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai (26 May – 04 June 2025), featuring the best cadets from Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Andaman & Nicobar.

International Yoga Day – 2025
DCE celebrated International Yoga Day on 21 June 2025 in collaboration with NCC, NSS, and the Department of Physical Education.
Over 100 students and faculty participated in sessions focused on:
Mindfulness and stress management
Pranayama and meditation
Basic yoga postures and Surya Namaskar
The program promoted physical well-being and mental balance, reinforcing NCC’s commitment to holistic development.
National Service Scheme (NSS)
Overview
Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering has two active units of NSS, committed to community engagement, social responsibility, and student development.
The NSS unit conducts regular outreach programmes within the campus and in the adopted village, Malaipattu, focusing on health, awareness, cleanliness, and social service initiatives.

Major Initiatives & Events
Temple Cleaning Activity – Kancheepuram
The NSS unit actively participated in “Ulavarapani” at Egaambaranathar Temple, Kancheepuram, on 10.09.2023.
The initiative reflected the students’ commitment to community service and received appreciation from the public.
Drug Awareness Programme
On 11 August 2023, the NSS unit conducted a Drug Awareness Programme to educate students on the social and legal consequences of substance abuse.
The session was delivered by Mr. Sivakumar, Inspector of Police, Somangalam.
Approximately 175 students and 100 staff members participated and took an awareness pledge.
Medical Camp – Eye Check-up
The NSS unit organized a Medical Camp (Eye Check-up) under the theme “Healthy Youth for Healthy India” to promote preventive healthcare and early diagnosis among students.
Drone Club
Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering has initiated the Drone Club to foster students’ interest and enthusiasm in the field of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and emerging drone technologies.
The Drone Club aims to provide students with opportunities to explore drone technology, develop practical skills, investigate innovative applications, and understand the potential of UAVs across various industries. The initiative encourages students to engage in hands-on learning, experimentation, research, and technology-driven problem solving.
The Drone Lab serves as a platform for innovation, research, development, and practical applications of drone technology. It aims to support the growth of students’ technical capabilities while contributing to the development of emerging applications in the drone industry.
Facilities & Resources
To provide students with extensive practical exposure to drone technology, the institution has acquired:
One Drone Simulator for training and simulation-based learning.
One Surveillance Drone for exploring UAV applications in monitoring and surveillance.
One Agriculture Spraying Drone designed for small-scale agricultural applications.
The commercial drones have been procured from Dhaksha Unmanned Systems.
Faculty Training
As part of the institution’s efforts to strengthen expertise in drone technology, two faculty members have undergone training at MIT–CASR for a Small Category Drone Pilot Licence, with institutional support.
Through the Drone Club and Drone Lab, DCE aims to equip students with practical knowledge and industry-relevant skills while encouraging innovation and research in the rapidly evolving field of unmanned aerial systems.
AR & VR Club
The AR & VR Club at Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering encourages students to explore the transformative potential of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) in education and beyond.
Driven by student innovation and supported by the college’s incubation ecosystem and Tech-iera Innovations, the initiative focuses on developing immersive technology solutions that make learning more engaging, interactive, and experiential.
One of the key areas of exploration is the use of AR and VR classrooms, enabling students to experience concepts through immersive and interactive learning environments. By integrating emerging technologies into education, the initiative encourages curiosity, creativity, experimentation, and technology-driven problem solving.
The initiative represents DCE’s commitment to student-driven innovation and emerging technologies, providing students with opportunities to transform ideas into practical solutions and explore new possibilities in immersive learning.

Dance Club
The Dance Club at Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering provides students with a vibrant platform to explore their passion for dance, express their creativity, and develop confidence through performing arts.
The club encourages students to discover and nurture their talents while promoting teamwork, discipline, coordination, and self-expression. It provides opportunities for students to participate in cultural programmes, college events, celebrations, and dance performances.
Through regular practice, collaborative performances, and participation in cultural activities, the Dance Club creates an engaging environment where students can develop their artistic abilities and showcase their talents.

The club encourages students with an interest in singing, instrumental music, and other forms of musical expression to come together, collaborate, and showcase their talents. It also contributes to the cultural life of the institution through performances and participation in college events and celebrations.
